This range of solstice crafts depicting folksy shamans, tree of life, mushrooms and decorative reindeer, honours a very ancient solstice shamanic custom.
Many of these old beliefs have found their way into our modern customs, but we have forgotten their true origins. The shamans gathered those fairytale Amanita Muscaria mushrooms in autumn and put them on pine trees to dry.

The dried mushrooms were distributed to the tribe at the winter solstice – through the chimney if doors were snowed up! Reindeer too, love these fly agaric mushrooms – so called because they induce an euphoric feeling of flying rather than for attracting flies. 1) You will receive the digital craft set as downloads in zipped files containing the printable graphics in PDF format.
2) You will need an unzipping program like Winzip or similar. Your computer is bound to have some unzipping program installed. Documents in PDF format need Acrobat Reader to open. You can download Acrobat Reader for free.
3) The pages are in letter format with graphic positioned to also print on A4.
4) You need a color printer to print the pages. Set printer quality to "best".
5) Matte photo paper like Canon 170gm which is especially for Arts and Crafts and plain paper for the paper projects. I also like Stora Enso cardstock which is the same bright white on both sides for double-sided printing.
